Gaudigolf: we play again!

GaudiGolf in Annaberg combines fun and games with exercise in nature

“Cheese platter”, “Sautrog” and “Backofen” – these are just a few of the twelve different stations that can be played at GaudiGolf around the Kopfberg. Similar to miniature golf, a ball must be hit through the obstacles with a club. Fun and exciting stations around the Kopfberg provide movement, entertainment and fun for young and old. From this weekend we will play again!

Exciting game – interesting companions

Clack, clack, clack – the ball masters the obstacles grandiosely. The players, both young and old, watch in suspense as he wiggles his way between the “pieces of cheese”. Oh dear, there is no further progress here, an “Emmentaler” blocks the way and another blow is necessary before the little bell strikes at the finish. Well, two strokes are not bad on the “cheese platter” set up here by the Rottenhofhütte. We enter the number two on the scorecard and are already excited about what awaits us at the next station.

Another quick look to the left, because we can’t go any further without checking out the great fire truck. This part of the GaudiGolf course namely leads along the hay figure path. Numerous funny figures enrich here the easy hike on the forest path. Bound from fragrant hay, they were made for the annual HeuART festival. And after the feast they have found their permanent place here.

But now quickly move on, because we are already curious about what awaits us at the next station. It is indeed an “outhouse”, as it can still be found in some places on the alpine pasture! A really funny idea – and not at all as easy to play as it looked at first. The ramp leads steeply up and finally the ball lies where normally the “poop” goes. After much laughter, the points are entered again and we move on to the “Sautrog”. There, the haymaking trail connects to the GaudiGolf station through a haymaking pig. A great idea!

The natural environment from rural to alpine ambience flows into the individual golf stations. The blue trail, part of the Hay Figure Trail, takes a good hour on a leisurely hike. For the orange course continues a little steeper. However, the individual stations are laid out just right to offer children or seniors a carefree hiking experience with “fun factor.”

What distinguishes GaudiGolf from miniature golf is not only the spacious playing field. Here the bat and ball are made of wood. Both will be handed out at the start at the Salzburg Dolomitenhof. The scorecard is also available there. Here the players enter how many strokes they needed to pocket each figure. At the end, the score is settled – the one who has the fewest strokes is the winner!

Exercise, games and fun

The individual GaudiGolf stations in Annaberg was made in self-direction by members of the tourism association committee. A lot of ideas, love, care and work goes into it. Please make sure that the stations are played at your convenience and that the next players will find them in good condition. At the latest on the Whitsun weekend GaudiGolf can be played again. It is possible that one or the other station is not yet fully playable, but this does not detract from the fun. Enjoy your day between GaudiGolf and hay figures on a hike in fresh air with a magnificent view of the Gosaukamm. You will feel how good the stay in nature will do you. Maybe you feel hungry and thirsty after a round of GaudiGolf? No problem, the Salzburg Dolomitenhof, the cafe “Das Hannes” and also the freeride bar are on the way and are already open for you on the weekend.

Welcome back and have fun!
