Family destination with fun golf in the Lammer Valley

In Annaberg-Lungötz in the Tennengau in SalzburgerLand lies a very special excursion destination for families with children: the hay figure trail – one of the top excursion destinations in the Lammertal. A four-kilometer hiking trail in the middle of the unspoiled nature of Annaberg in the hiking area Dachstein West. Along the stroller-friendly trail, there are numerous works of art made of hay to marvel at – especially when the weather is nice. They once adorned the magnificently decorated floats of past Lammertal HeuART festivals. Now they also make the eyes of the small, but also the big visitors in the hiking area Dachstein West shine.

Anyone taking a summer family outing in the middle of Salzburg’s Annaberg-Lungötz hiking region in the Tennengau region should definitely not miss out on a game of Gaudi Golf. The game is similar to miniature golf – only more rustic in the midst of nature, it provides unbridled fun for every age group.

Interesting and fun hike for the whole family

HayART hike in the Tennengau region

Anyone who has ever visited the Lammertal HayART Festival, the world’s largest parade of its kind, can confirm it: The hay figures are hard to beat in terms of attention to detail and craftsmanship. Hours of handwork and tons of fragrant hay make them so distinctive: whether traditional Madonna, the Dachsteinweiberl or the Hayworm Lu-An.

The starting point of the hay figure trail is the center of Annaberg in the Tennengau. From there it’s about four kilometers to the Kopflacke. In addition to fascinating hay figures, numerous play stations provide exuberant entertainment in fair weather. The legends about the Kopflackenmann or the Dachsteinweiberl take you into a mythical world. So excitement and variety are the order of the day at the excursion destination in the Lammer Valley in Salzburg.

Fun golf on the Kopfberg

For all those who love mini golf, I have a special excursion tip: Gaudi Golf. The starting point is the Dolomitenhof in Salzburg. Hiking fun for the whole family meets twelve fun golf stations that offer something for everyone, from easy to tricky. The creatively designed stations are mainly made of local wood. The panorama of the Gosaukamm with Bischofsmütze always firmly in view, the day trip between Annaberg and Lungötz will be unforgettable.

For a game of fun golf you should plan one to three hours. The game is also ideal for families with children, as two variants are offered. The blue – easier – course is played on a portion of the hayride trail, combining the best of both worlds. The slightly more difficult, orange variant is a bit longer and steeper, but also suitable for all generations.

Clubs, ball and score card for a game of fun golf can be rented from the Salzburg Dolomitenhof for a fee. If you have successfully mastered the fun stations around the fox, the municipal coat of arms or the bread oven, you get to keep the game ball. As a souvenir of one of the top excursion destinations in the Tennengau.
